Research content

① Development of low cost sustainable crop cultivation technology using unused organic resources and leguminous manure

Food residue is an effective fertilizer resource. In addition, since Nitrogen-fixing bacteria co-exist with Leguminous Green Manure, they have enough ability to grow without applying nitrogen fertilizer, solubilize unavailable minerals in soil, and supply them to crops. These are expected not only for organic fertilizers but also for comprehensive improvement of soil function, with the aim of developing further advanced utilization technology.

②Verification of effect on utilization technology and crop cultivation as soil amendment material of unused inorganic waste

The shutdown of nuclear power plants increased proportion of thermal power generation, and a large amount of clinker is emitted by coal combustion. Since the clinker is porous and contains silicic acid, calcium and trace elements, when it is used as a soil amendment material, possibility of improving chemical and physical properties of the soil is high, so we verified effect of the clinker application test.

Development of techniques for avoiding high temperature disorders during summer season in organic paddy rice cultivation in Chūyo -region and verification in crop cultivation

Because of global warming, high-temperature disorders also appear in paddy rice cultivation, and countermeasures are urgently required. It is difficult to manage paddy rice organic cultivation, due to lack of knowledge on countermeasures technology, so we develop technologies to optimize cropping time and soil nutrients supply.
